The University of Cambridge (UCAM) is consistently ranked among the foremost universities in the world and engages in cutting-edge research across disciplines to find solutions to global problems. The tasks related to GO-DS21 will be carried out in the Computer Science and technology Department, which was founded in 1937. UCAM has several active interdisciplinary research initiatives and big data integration programs, particularly in neuroscience, cancer, stem cells and infectious diseases.
As part of GO-DS21, UCAM will lead WP6 and will interact closely with all the WPs where clinical and molecular data are produced in order to set the best conditions and refinement of:
- multi-omic and clinical data fusion;
- database and other software training, maintenance and support;
- meta-analysis of high dimensional data;
- interpretation, discussion and visualization of the results from the molecular to clinical space context with the aim to generate an integrated gene and comorbidity ontology (i.e. disease ontology for classification of patterns comorbidities progression);
- mathematical modeling of comorbidity trajectories and personalized comorbidity map;
- overall project integrability (cross-talk and hub-function to facilitate the interpretation of data produced by the different partners having different background and expertise) and aligned with the privacy and ethics recommendations from the coordinator and the ethic board and international ethical policies.
